Hey it's me Ipek

ee-pek — she/her — turkish-american —
currently in Melbourne, australia

I have my nerdy parents to thank for nurturing my young and fragile interest in front-end code when I was around 10-years-old. I didn't realize I was developing at the time — I was just trying to make my Neopets shop look pretty. I built my first website for an english project on creative writing a few years later in middle school. Since that time I've known that web design would always be a part of my life. Formal education helped me to build a foundation in design theory and thinking; work experience has taught me how to blend my idealistic nature with real-world results.

I graduated from Lesley College of Art & Design where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2014. I've done lots of things since then — not all of it was design-related. Here's my CV in case you're curious.

Extra information

— I make a great latte! Seriously I'm proud of this
— My design philosophy is: with a little mental flexibility, we can all have our cake and eat it, too
— I'm fluent in Turkish (thanks again parents)
— I am into fibers and textiles, aka find me embroidering thrifted goods on the weekend
— Bonus round: Aries sun and moon & Libra rising, for those that believe
